CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE GUITARIST ABERNASTY RELEASES MORE MUSIC

Do you love Conducting From The Grave? Yes you do. Do you love the mind bending leads, fantastically catchy melodies and ferocious riffing? Yes you do. Do you want to listen to anything and everything the guitarist, John “Abernasty” Abernathy, responsible for all these awesome aspects of Conducting From The Grave? Yes you do. Clearly you are interested in what I have to offer.

The guitarist “Abernasty” has another band that is well worth checking out. This band is called Soma Ras and they have a three song EP out there for you to consume. These guys deliver absolutely destructive blackened death metal. It is brutal as all hell and completely devastating and punishing. These guys are opening for Conducting From The Grave at the latter bands CD release show. So if you are hoping to go to that, make sure you get there for the opener, it’s just more Abernasty after all.

Now for something completely different. Abernasty is the name given to John Abernathy’s rap career. And finally, after 2 years of beat making and rapping, his debut, “Life on Stage,” mixtape is available for listening. And if you like rap, and even if you don’t like me, this is an enjoyable mixtape for two reasons. First, Abernasty still is Abernasty, that hasn’t changed. His musical personality shines through in his style, which feels similar to his extravagant and playful lead guitar style. But the description for “Life on Stage” is the real reason why this matters to you a metal fan: “The general theme of this mixtape is anti music industry and deals with experiences both good and bad that I've had from almost 10 years of touring the nation with my metal band Conducting From the Grave, among other topics. Other independent artists will particularly relate to this disc.” There ya go, listen to it all.

CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE VIDEO PLAY THROUGH

Conducting from the Grave are continuing to build momentum following the band's successful kickstarter campaign leading up to the release of their new self titled album. This time they’ve released a guitar and bass playthrough video for their second single “Into the Rabbit Hole.” And it’s cool.

The video alternates shots between both guitarists and bassist playing the track. It’s always cool to get a good look at how musicians play their songs. In this instance, the little lick where both parts tap and the moving melodic line alternates is what I was most interested in hearing. I also always like checking out the guys technique. It’s fun to me to see how the guys who are behind the killer tunes play. I also like to compare it to my own technique to improve a little, hey that’s progress! Either check out this vid and stay posted for more Conducting from the Grave.

CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE "INTO THE RABBIT HOLE" SINGLE

The heavy hitting riff masters in Conducting From The Grave are going independent with their next album. Similar to bands such as Protest The Hero and Exivious, they have opened the funding of the album to their fans and they still need your support! If you wanna hear more greatness from these guys, grab a pre-order here! There are a lot of awesome exclusive options available for you to grab. Check 'em out!

Here's some great news while you're waiting for the album. Conducting From The Grave just dropped an impressive new song "Into The Rabbit Hole" along with some awesome, twisted artwork for the new record! From the looks of it, this one is gonna be a self-titled. It's cool that the band is making this definitive statement independently. You can see all of the above down below.

CONDUCTING FROM THE GRAVE ALBUM PREVIEW / KICKSTARTER LAUNCH

Crazy melodic death metallers Conducting from the Grave are back and better than ever. The band is releasing their third full length album sometime this fall. According to their kickstarter campaign, the release is projected sometime in September. The upcoming album, whose title has not been released as of yet, is the follow up to 200 sophomore album “Revenants.” The most interesting and exciting part about all of this, besides new CFTG tunes of course, is the fact that this album is being entirely independently released. From the recording, to the distribution and promotion, Conducting from the Grave is handling, and funding, all of it.

This is where the kickstarter campaign comes in. The band has launched a campaign to fund the pressing, promotion, distribution, recording, and touring expenses. The band is asking for $1500 to cover all of these expenses and have already accumulated $2600 as I write this. CFTG is just one in a long line of bands who are taking advantage of direct crowd or source funding. American metal band Chimaira are the most recent example I can think of but Protest the Hero’s massive campaign, which funded over 340 thousand dollars (jesus christ!) is the best example of the immense power of crowdfunding campaigns. These campaigns take advantage of fans’ willingness to spend extra money on albums for sentimental perks and the satisfaction of knowing money spent will be going directly into the hands of the band to great effect. Find Conducting from the Grave’s kickstarter page here.

Now onto the music. CFTG have released a single with the kickstarter video and an album preview. The first single, titled "Honor Guide Me!" finds a perfect mix between the melodic, chaotic metal of “When Legends Become Dust” and the more polished songwriting of “Revenants.” The song contains plenty of shred, fast riffing, evil chord progressions, and fantastic vocals courtesy of Mikey Powell.  Lyrically the song is about the perspective on the war that takes place during the Starcraft video games through the eyes of a Protoss Zealot. Perfect example of the attitude of this band. Badass metalheads who don’t take themselves too seriously. The kickstarter video displays this attitude perfectly as well. The song starts around 3:20 in the kickstarter video I’ve included. The preview also contains a lot of clips of other songs and these are all fantastic as well. The shred provided by guitarist John “Abernasty” Abernathy is phenomenal. I honestly think he is one of the best lead guitarists in all of metal. Check out the preview, and the bands first and only music video, as well. You won’t regret it. The Conducting guys seem like great dudes from what I’ve seen, mostly through their facebook accounts and a meeting or two after their sick shows. So go ahead and donate your money to this worthy cause. NOW!
