After allegedly hiring someone to kill his estranged wife, paying massive bail, blaming it on the roids, being in and out of court for awhile, and facing the very real possibility of going to jail - there's a cherry on top. The legends at Lambgoat have found that said estranged wife is suing him. The cost?
Two million dollars. She's seeking the money for health and legal expenses in a case opposing the trial for Tim's solicitation charges. Both will likely take place in Spring of next year. We'll keep you up to date.

Tim Lambesis (As I Lay Dying, Austrian Death Machine, Pyrithion)
allegedly attempted to have his estranged wife murdered. If you've managed to miss the fallout since, you can catch up here.
After returning to court this week there have been a few new developments. Once again, he has pled not guilty, sticking to the previous defense that his "thought processes were devastatingly affected by his steroid use". And yet again, it has worked in his favor.
According to the champs at Lambgoat (who had an anonymous source in attendance), a January 15th date has been set for the ongoing trial. If it isn't settled by that point, Lambesis may return to court in March. Stay tuned for more.

There haven't been any real developments since May, until now. The original arraignment date of October 22nd was pushed back due to scheduling conflicts with Lambesis' attorney and will now take place November 13th... this week. It's possible the case will be resolved beforehand if a plea bargain is reached. Stay tuned for more info, which is sure to come streaming in later this week.
This will be absolute madness, guaranteed. The incredibly talented and most recent guitarist of The Faceless, Wes Hauch, has a new project up his sleeve. And a few more super talented sleeves are involved. He has joined forces with Ryan Glisan (who literally just left Allegaeon, Pyrithion) and Marcin "Martin" Rygiel (ex-Decapitated) in what's sounding to be a massive Death Metal album. They've also been working with Daniel Castleman (Allegaeon, Suicide Silence) as an engineer.
They expect to have new material and an official band name sometime this Fall! So far they've released a beastly studio video detailing the insanity of the rhythm guitars. I'm sure the leads will be out of this world... Stay tuned for more!
Looks like Tim Lambesis has managed to cough up the $2 million dollars and post bail. He is no longer being held at the Vista Detention Facility. This has been confirmed by multiple sources including Alternative Press and Metal Injection.
For those who honestly haven't heard, Tim was taken into custody after allegedly hiring a hitman to have his estranged wife murdered. You can catch up on the situation by reading here and here. Stay tuned for further details on the case.
A new video report has surfaced in the Tim Lambesis case, detailing his revised defense strategy (roids) through new attorney Tom Warwick (pictured below) along with his lowered bail. I personally take all US media news stories with a grain of salt (or the whole shaker in some cases) but the details presented from the case here are fairly straight forward.
First off, yes I realize this is controversial timing to write such a review considering the alleged actions of Tim Lambesis. You can read more about that here. This video of the arraignment will also give you a good idea of the current state of affairs. But in all fairness, I ordered the CD well before these allegations surfaced. Unfortunately it arrived the day after the news broke... Shit timing. But I'm not one to leave a brand new CD laying around. Just let it be known I don't condone Tim's actions, but I sure as hell condone Death Metal \m/
So if you honestly haven't gathered, Pyrithion is the Death Metal side project of As I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis. It's also the brain child of two very awesome guitarists Ryan Glisan (Allegaeon) and Andy Godwin (Embodyment). The drums and bass for this effort were actually recorded by studio musicians John P Andrade and Josh Gilbert. All of the above bring out great skill on the debut Pyrithion EP, "The Burden Of Sorrow" (released via the legendary Metal Blade Records).
The EP is composed of three tracks. First, there's the single "The Invention of Hatred" which was released into the world a good bit before the EPs official release. In some ways it's different listening to this track now. Maybe
these lyrics were a reflection of the real Tim Lambesis as
opposed to what he wrote in As I Lay Dying. Who knows? Either way, it's pretty damn metal. The music itself is solid, a common trend throughout the EP. Next up, there's "Bleed Out". Also pretty damn metal in it's delivery of heavy chaos n' blast beats. It's especially apparent that Tim's vocal approach is different from his norm with deeper growls, high shrieks and such. Appropriate all things considered. "Rest in the Arms of A Paralyzed Beast" is easily my favorite track on the EP. It opens up clean only to crush with massive riffs and grooves leading up to a destructive finale.
"The Burden Of Sorrow" isn't delivered without some flaws. This isn't notably an original effort, but it does have it's moments. And what it lacks in outstanding originality is generally made up for by the energy and delivery brought by the band on all three tracks. That's really the only overt flaw. Every other blemish is very minor by comparison. For example, it's a very short release but it's to the point.
To sum things up, this debut is great. You can scope out some tracks above and see for yourself. It's also a reflection of how Tim seems to have thrown away his work and potential through these alleged stupid, callous actions. But the musical minds behind the band, Ryan and Andy, are still fully worth supporting and will keep on doing their thing. Obviously this is a situation that can't be planned for and therefor we have been trying not to speak out of turn. As of now, we don't have any more information on the situation than what we can find in the news but we want to make sure this plays out how it needs to and that we don't in any way interfere. no more information than you do. There are many unanswered questions,
and the situation will become clearer in the coming days and weeks.

The facts are Tim was arrested Tuesday afternoon in an Oceanside, CA store and booked into jail the same night. He will have his arraignment today. According to reports, he initially attempted to solicit an undercover detective to do the deed on May 2nd (while touring in Asia).
This whole situation seems out of character for Tim Lambesis. He's a fairly outspoken christian with adopted Ethiopian children and a clothing label set up exclusively to help kids. His wife filed for divorce earlier this year, but would that really trigger a man like Tim to such actions? I'm not the judge here. But if it's true, it would be incredibly stupid / callous of him.
This will no doubt ruin his career if he is found to be guilty, taking down multiple metal acts and organizations in the process. Not to mention Tim is apparently worth $14 million dollars (according to Celebrity Net Worth).
If he's somehow found to be innocent, this will all serve as very nice press for himself and his music. It will also make me feel better about my recent purchase of the Pyrithion EP. Only time will tell... stay tuned.
