MESHUGGAH TO HEADLINE EUROBLAST

Ok. Wait. Colossal news here. Meshuggah will be headlining the 9th edition of Euroblast festival in Cologne this October... Holy shit.

You know, people at Euroblast had always been like “Wow! The line up is amazing! The only band left is Meshuggah” but it was like a joke...nobody ever thought that Meshuggah was actually going to play Euroblast in the near future. Or “If they call Meshuggah, they're done. Who are they gonna call the following year?”...Well, now everything has changed.

Meshuggah will be there, headlining the sickest prog/djent/tech metal festival in Europe (maybe in the world now?). This may really become huge, especially with other huge names bolstering the line up. The band that inspired this whole musical movement is headlineing the number one event in the genre. This is going to be legendary. Be there!

Also look at the media partners on the lovely poster below... You'll notice The Circle Pit. We shall be promoting this festival through it's cycle.

EUROBLAST FESTIVAL 2013 - THE LINE UP SO FAR

Cologne's Euroblast Festival doesn't need an introduction for many of you, so I'll put it this way... One of Europe's most mind-blowing metal festivals will unleash all of its energy on the crowd from the 11th til the 13th of October. It seems like this forthcoming ninth edition is going to be another blast!

In fact, the guys at the Euroblast Collective have announced a good portion of this year's line up and two of the headliners. Textures will be performing their only German show of 2013 here. The second headliner is Germany's very own The Ocean. The rest of the unveiled line up is stacked as well, making this an unmissable event. Euroblast 2013 will feature international names like Threat Signal, The Agonist, Twelve Foot Ninja, Arsis, Hacride, Benea Reach, Mnemic, Feared, Xerath, Lifeforms, Aliases, Humanity's Last Breath, Syqem, The Omega Experiment, Deathember, Der Weg Einer Freheit, Dawn Heist, Hord,  Overdown, Pomegranate Tiger, Tardive Dyskinesia, Cyclamen, Kartikeya, Heights, and Third Ear.

Last year's line up featured more than 40 bands. This year is currently at 28. So the only thing you need to do is stay tuned for the announcement of the third headliner / rest of the line up, coming very soon. If you live in Europe, you should definitely start thinking about buying tickets. This is the kind of event you don't want to miss!

THROWBACK THURSDAY - EUROBLAST 8

The thing that sucks about living in States is that Europe gets all the great shows. And the problem with living in Europe is that the US gets all the great shows. If you catch my drift... You can't win either way.

For this reason I did not personally attend Euroblast 8 but there's no denying the line-up was insanely good. There was also an incredible tour alongside the main event with Scar Symmetry among others. So today we're gonna be taking a look back at some of the incredible sets that were played at the main festival itself along with prepping you for this year's Euroblast 9.

Euroblast 8 was stacked with names like After The Burial, Tesseract, Jeff Loomis, War From A Harlots Mouth, Vildhjarta, Skyharbor, Chimp Spanner, Monuments, Circle of Contempt, The Algorithm, Agent Fresco, Destiny Potato, and the list goes on... Check out footage from the bands down below! Also included possibly one of the coolest festival trailers ever made, featuring music from the incredible Akeldama.

Currently the line-up for this years festival is being announced bit by bit. There have already been several awesome bands announced including Benea Reach, Mnemic, Twelve Foot Ninja, The Omega Experiment, Cyclamen, Tardive Dyskinesia, etc. You can check the rest of the bands / get all kinds of info here. This years festival will be huge!
