JOB FOR A COWBOY HAVE A STUDIO DRUMMER FOR THE NEW ALBUM

Here's a bit of unexpected, awesome news! Since drummer Jon "The Charn" Rice left Job For A Cowboy (read more here), the band has been looking for someone to fill in. And it looks like they've found the man for the job (ba dum tsk). It's not anyone you were expecting, however...

Danny Walker of Intronaut will be the man to fill in. Yes, that groovy dude from the laid back, grungy Progressive Metal band that sounds nothing like Job For A Cowboy. But don't doubt this guys ability for one second. He's proven on various occasions to be an A+ drummer through varied outlets. I, for one, and absolutely stoked to see what he can do on the new Job For A Cowboy album. Should be awesome!

Read the statements from bassist Nick Schendzielos and Danny Walker himself down below. And don't forget to blast the music \m/

“Well my friends the time has come and The Charn has officially decided to step off the JFAC train. Absolutely no hahd feelins or nothin! We love the dude, cherish the memories we made with him, and in all likelihood will be seeing him again very soon…which brings up the next awesome piece of news… Our phenomenally talented friend Danny Walker is going to grace our next full length with his decidedly delicious drum tracks! We are seriously excited to hear what it’s going to turn out like- let the anticipation build!” - Nick Schendzielos

“I’m thrilled to be working with these guys on this record! I look forward to challenging myself and contributing to a fresh and different outlet!” - Danny Walker

JON "THE CHARN" RICE LEAVES JOB FOR A COWBOY

The long standing drummer of Job For A Cowboy, Jon "The Charn" Rice, has officially left the band. Since joining in 2007, it's pretty clear he has helped pushed JFAC in the right direction, away from their original Deathcore sound. I'm sure this trend will continue without him. Additionally, I'm sure many have noticed how the band moved from chagrin to a position of respect as a result of this. His stellar contributions will be missed but the good news is he's looking for a new job (ba dum tsk). You can read his official statement and jam some metal below.

As of this past August, I have decided to part ways with Job for a Cowboy. There are a few reasons for this, none of which I’m going to get into.

That being said, I have no intentions of stopping touring or playing. I honestly love to tour and play live with new people, so I look forward to playing in new musical arenas in the future.

The dudes and I are on very good terms with this and they understand the decision. They have a new record in the making and I’m extremely excited to hear it.

Thanks again to everyone.

MAYHEM FESTIVAL 2013 RECAP

Mayhem Festival was incredible this year. We met a lot of people, saw many bands, and got a lot of work done. From interviewing metal icons to standing in front of 8,000+ people, not to mention moshing like some mad men, it was pretty much unforgettable for our team. Thanks to Mayhem Fest and all the great people behind it.

Here's our full recap of the day. Look below for interviews with Mastodon, Born of Osiris, and Battlecross. You'll also see our photo gallery (unfortunately we had to miss Mastodon, Machine Head, and Children of Bodom due to our tight schedule...). We should have ALL of our pictures up on our Facebook page very soon...

Stay tuned for next year!

MAYHEM FESTIVAL 2013 PICTURES

Mayhem Festival was insanity this year. Here are the pictures to prove it.

Unfortunately we missed Mastodon, Machine Head, and Children of Bodom due to our tight schedule but we did manage to cover heavy hitters like Amon Amarth, Born Of Osiris, Job For A Cowboy, Battlecross, and more! We also grabbed shots from the headliners Rob Zombie and Five Finger Death Punch. Look through the gallery below.

Stay tuned for next year!

MAYHEM FESTIVAL 2013

So, the line up of Mayhem Festival 2013 has officially been announced and it's looking like a year worth going to. Usually the Festival is hit or miss, but they brought on Mastodon, Amon Amarth, Machine Head, Children of Bodom, Behemoth, Job for a Cowboy, and Born of Osiris among others for the event this summer.

Not to say there aren't some less favorable additions. Should be hilarious to see Emmure take the stage before Behemoth.

Check out the flyer along with some heavy music down below. And if you want to go to Mayhem 2013, be sure to head over to their Official Website and grab some tickets sooner than later!
