The time has come yet again for Warped Tour to start leaking information bit by bit. 203 days until the show officially begins and the dates are now available for your scrutiny. Take a look below.
December 4th is the day to really keep in mind as three major events will take place for the tour. First and foremost, the tickets will go up for sale. Second, the band announcements will begin. And third, Warped Roadies will return for a second season (actually very entertaining and informative for anyone interested in the tour).
While you're waiting for all of this, check our Warped Tour coverage from the past two years and watch the first episode of Warped Roadies first season.

Hell yeah! It looks like Europe is going to burn in high, hot flames in January when Nuclear Blast's Australian deathcore heavyweights Thy Art Is Murder start their tour in January 2014. They'll be hitting the road with one of the heaviest line-ups we've seen recently... English hardcore masters Heart Of A Coward, the American heaviness that is Aegaeon, and more epic deathcore from down under brought by Aversion Crown.
The short tour will mostly take place in Germany but will also touch Poland, Belgium, and France. If they come near you, definitely don't miss this moshable line up! Dates are on the flyer below.
THE WITHIN THE RUINS VIDEO IS STILL PROCESSING... 24+ HOURS LATER. YOUTUBE.......
Back in April, there was a massive tour leading up to the northeast's hallowed New England Metal & Hardcore Festival. It was appropriately dubbed "The Road To New England Metal & Hardcore Festival". The 2013 edition boasted a strong line-up with After The Burial, The Contortionist, Within The Ruins, and Glass Cloud wrecking stages nightly.
We have some footage from this tour that never saw the light of day... until now. Better late than never right? Our team actually attended two shows, one in Pittsburgh and one in upstate New York. The following footage is primarily from Pittsburgh, including a video of local heroes Bury Thy Kingdom.
Attila is currently on the road touring off of their newest album release, “About That Life”, with their tour mates, Upon A Burning Body, IWRESTLEDABEARONCE, The Plot In You, and Fit For a King. I got a chance to catch the seventh show of this thirty date nationwide tour… and this was my experience.
Right from the beginning, it was obvious that this was a sold out show and I didn’t need to see the “Sold Out” sign in the front to determine that. As soon as I walked into the venue, people were body-to-body in just about every place except the slight opening for the pathway to the exit. Within seconds, sweat began to roll down my face from the heat generated from a couple hundred of pumped metal heads engaging in the festivities.
The first band to storm the stage that night was Dallas Texas’s Christian metal band Fit For A King. Personally I had only heard of this band but I never actually took a second to check them out and mannnnnnn now I wish I would have. This band puts on a high energy performance with very clean and precise musical talent. This is no doubt a band that I am going to keep my eye on because I think in the next couple of years they are going to blow up the scene.
Next, The Plot In You handled their business and they were entertaining as hell. The highlight of their performance was the intensity of their front man, Landon Tewers who is indeed a performer of the highest caliber. He expressed his passion by continuously moving all across the stage and by doing so he effortlessly kept the overall intensity of the room at a high level. I had never seen this band live before and I definitely recommend it on the account of just a visually energetic show.
Due to sitting down and chatting with Danny Leal for a exclusive interview and needed to get some fresh air I wasn’t able to catch IWRESTLEDABEARONCE’s performance, but based off of the craziness that I could hear pounding through the venue walls, I have no doubt that they had a elite performance as well.
Next up was the band we were there for. As soon as Upon A Burning Body hit the stage the crowd responded just as any band would want their fans to. Within seconds people were climbing onto the stage and diving on the crowd of screaming fans that were bouncing in synchronization while yelling the song lyrics as passionately as they could. This venue, unlike so many others in Southern California, offers an intimate experience because there are no security guards and no barricades that keep the crowd at a distance from the band. By the end of Upon A Burning Body’s set at least twenty people must have jumped onstage, including a female who rolled onstage, just before the exploding bass of a breakdown, and got tangled in Danny’s microphone completely messing up the rhythm of the song. Danny’s reply was something to the extent of, “Wow you just completely fucked that up…. You better make it up with an epic stage dive as soon as the music kicks in,” Which of course she did.

Upon A Burning Body’s set list was:
1. Showtime
2. Intermission

4. Mimic
5. El Mariachi
6. Desperado
7. Once Upon a Time in Mexico
8. Game Over

10. Sin City

Lastly the tour head liner, Attila, performed and if you have ever seen Attila before then you know that their show is always fun. Say what you want about their music, but their performances are a blast and it was very easy to see that Atilla was the band that the majority of the crowd was waiting to see. From middle fingers in the air, to screaming Fronz’s funny and somewhat controversial lyrics the crowd was going nuts. The moisture in the venue from heat was so strong that Fronz was having a difficult time keeping his balance on the metal risers that were on the stage. Attila played a wide variety of songs from multiple albums and when they attempted to end the night with “Callout” the crowd wasn’t ready to go home and by their chanting of “One more song!,” Attila came back to the stage and closed it up with a crowd favorite, “Payback.”

Atilla’s set list was:

For once... Europe gets one of the best tours! Protest The Hero will be hitting the continent in January with the best support possible - Two European heavyweights, Tesseract and The Safety Fire along with Canada's very own Intervals hitting Europe for the first time! This is probably going to be the best tour of 2014 and it's taking place in January! You better not miss this unbelievable combo and I personally guarantee you're not dreaming... this is really happening!
A bit back we covered a show for our friends in Wings Denied. This is easily one of the most promising underground Progressive Metal bands out there. Imagine if Periphery, Protest The Hero, and TesseracT had a baby along with the genes of something entirely different. That would be Wings Denied.
Check out the live experience video down below and you may catch my drift. You can also download the bands older material on Bandcamp for the price of your choosing. But believe me... you're not even ready for what comes next.
A few days ago the chaos began to unfold as metal hot shots Trivium and DevilDriver embarked on a 29 stop tour across North America with special guests After The Burial, Sylosis, and Thy Will Be Done (Sylosis is only playing the first part of the tour and Thy Will Be Done will only be playing the second). With DevilDriver having a recent album release and Trivium launching one in October, this is the perfect opportunity for you to experience both of the band's new music first hand. Do not pass this up, you will be sorry if you do!
There are so many great tours going down in the next couple months. Here's another one worth adding to the list...
Veil of Maya will be devastating the United States alongside Structures, Northlane, Vildhjarta (first time playing in the United States), and Here Comes The Kraken! The tour will start up in November and end in December. Check the dates on the flyer below, listen to some tunes, and grab your tickets! We'll see you in the pit.

Hide yo’ kids and hide yo’ wives because starting this month the heavy metal brutality of The Acacia Strain is in full effect on the “No Way Out Tour” accompanied by the hard hitting sounds of Within The Ruins, Xibalba, Fit For An Autopsy, and American Me. Touching down on each coast from California to New York, the tuff sounds of these 5 bands will be coming to an area near you. We had one helluva time at Warped Tour this year. It was absolute madness from beginning to end with experiences a plenty. We did everything from covering insane live sets in front of thousands of people to meeting the man Kevin Lyman himself (owner and mastermind behind Warped Tour, Mayhem Festival, etc.). And that's barely even scratching the surface... We sincerely thank Warped Tour for the opportunity. They don't call it the best day ever for nothing.
Of course, being a metal site, we covered the heavy side of the show. We saw (in order) While She Sleeps, Letlive, The Amity Affliction, The Black Dahlia Murder, Volumes, Stick To Your Guns, Like Moths To Flames, Architects, and August Burns Red. We also had an interview with Jake Luhrs from August Burns Red for the sake of supporting his good cause Heartsupport. You can check out all the footage below.
Stay tuned for next year when the madness happens all over again! Also be sure to keep an eye out for additional concert / festival coverage from us (including Kevin's Mayhem Festival). Let's just say we've been busy these past few weeks...
Here is a DAMN HEAVY TOUR. It's recently been announced that The Acacia Strain will be hitting the road alongside Within The Ruins, Xibalba, Fit For An Autopsy, and American Me from August into September on the No Way Out Tour. There will be NO survivors.
Check the flyer / promo video video down below for dates. We also included music from the bands. See you in the pit \m/

WD = Wings Denied (answered by the drummer Alec Kossoff)
MT = Mike Thall
MT - We have DC prog metallers Wings Denied as our Artist of the Week! How’s it going dudes?
WD - Hey guys we’re doing pretty alright! Getting the final details of our tour ironed out and practicing around ten hours a day to get ready to give the best show possible!
MT - Very cool. So let’s start with the obvious. You guys have a Summer tour about to go up and down the East Coast. Can you tell the readers about that?
WD - We are embarking on our longest tour to date. I guess actually it’s our longest band endeavor to date because right after we are going in and tracking for a full-length album as well. Zach has been working his ass off for a couple of months being our personal tour manager and booking 20+ dates all DIY. From July 5th-August 1st we are touring from the North East, through the Midwest, and down to the South and back. We are really amped up about seeing crowds in places we’ve never been and just to get out and see more of the country!
MT - What are you looking forward to most on this tour?
WD - Honestly, for all of us this is what we legitimately love to do. We are looking forward to playing music and spending a month with our best friends.
MT - It's a good time waiting to happen. What is the craziest thing that has ever happened to you at a show?
WD - On our first show on our last tour in Raleigh we had an AWESOME turnout. Around one hundred people came out to support The Isosceles Project and us. We get on stage and we’re all jacked up on adrenaline and ready to play the show. We get on stage and start playing the first couple of riffs in Maiden. I (Alec) look over at Zach as he jumps up in the air and gets crazy like he normally does. As he lands he goes to move his foot and it gets caught on a cable. He fell on his ass harder than I’ve ever seen anyone fall and I was the only one on stage that saw- all without missing a note in the riff. Needless to say, I was cracking up and trying to hold the Maiden groove together, which is admittedly hard when you can’t stop laughing. We ended up finishing the song and all being alright, but afterwards Zach poured water in his hair to cool himself off without realizing he was right over our other guitarist at the times’ gear. So he completely waterlogged it. Lucky for him the gear ended up being ok as well. It was a rough show for Zach.
MT - Classic! Hopefully this tour goes smoother for Zach. If you could tour with any bands in the world, who would you hit the road with?
WD - We have a variety of interests and a lot of bands we draw influence from within the band. But, if we could do a super tour it would be Wings Denied with Intronaut, Meshuggah, Periphery, TesseracT, Tool, Deftones, and Between The Buried and Me.
MT - I would go see that in a heartbeat. Maybe one day. You guys recently dropped a split EP with North Carolina’s As Oceans. What went into making that release?
WD - The Split EP was actually a big pain in the ass for us. We had encountered a multitude of problems on our end that delayed the final production of it. However, As Oceans are really good friends of ours and amazing people, so they were super patient with us when it came time to release the split, which was actually pretty delayed. In fact, when our original producer dropped off the project, Joey from As Oceans actually stepped in and became the head engineer of our end of the split.
MT - It's cool that it actually became a collaborative effort like that. And I agree, the dudes in As Oceans are awesome. Who or what inspires your music?
WD - On the creative end on how we write music Zach is the primary contributor to writing music. He explains it like this, “Generally, a song will start out either as a rhythm or chord progression that I come up with either in my head, or just jamming around. Once I’ve got one riff that I’m happy with, the next one or two generally just seem to fall into place pretty easily. I have Synesthesia, which essentially means that I associate different notes and chord progressions with certain colors, almost as though playing a part makes me feel a way that I imagine a color would feel. Every song we write has it’s own set of colors and shades that work together to create what it is. Once I’ve got something together, I’ll tab all the guitar parts out in Guitar Pro, and generally whatever ideas I have for bass lines and drum parts (though those get changed pretty quickly once the other members get a hold of it). If I’m having trouble with transitions, I’ll generally just write it in Guitar Pro as well, cause it lets me see what works better.
MT - Gotcha. So how did Wings Denied get started up?
WD - Zach and our old guitarist Paul, who were roommates freshman year in college, started Wings Denied. They wrote some demo riffs and grooves and started to look for a drummer. They found me through my roommate and I became their drummer. I had been looking for a band as is and was really pumped to have found a band to challenge my abilities. I had a buddy that I had met at school named Luka who became our singer. After we set that lineup we went on tour and picked up Jackson Smith our touring bassist. After a couple lineup changes Jackson became our guitarist and we picked up Rob Moore to play bass.
MT - How did you come up with the name Wings Denied?
WD - Wings Denied is a reference to an Alice In Chains song, “Down in a hole”. Originally our band name was Aeviternity, which is as pretentious and dumb as a progressive metal band name can be. After we realized it was an awful name and no one could spell/pronounce it Luka came up with the name and it stuck!
MT - You mentioned you have new music on the way. Can you tell us about it?
WD - Yes we have a lot of new music that we’re playing on this tour. We are going to be recording a full-length with Jamie King (Producer of BTBAM, Scale the Summit, Wretched) in early-mid August, but it has no official release date as of right now. So if you’d like to hear some new tunes come see us on tour! We have eight new songs in our set list as well as the old tunes!
MT - Good shit! You guys are deeply involved in the metal underground. What upcoming bands would you recommend?
WD - We recommend our friends in: As Oceans, Lorelei, The Isosceles Project, Æther Realm, Fall Of The Albatross, FXZERO, Cryptodira, A Hope For The Dying, and Acoasm. We Also STRONGLY recommend the guys we’re touring with A Minor Error and Caricature.
MT - Some solid music there. Here’s the fun round… Do you even prog bro?
WD - Man all I do is prog. Nikola Tesla fully endorses this message.
MT - Hell yeah Tesla progs. That’s all we have. Thanks for your time! Any shout outs to give?
WD - Yeah! Serious shout outs to all the bands, fans, promoters, and venues that have hosted us and welcomed us to their respective hometowns on this tour. It’s absolutely mind-blowing for us to see the overwhelming support we receive on a daily basis! Without you guys, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do.
