MORGAN WRIGHT LEAVES I THE BREATHER

Well it's official. I The Breather isn't really I The Breather in my eyes anymore. This was our local band that went on to do significant things. As of yesterday there are no original members left with the exception of vocalist Shawn Spann, drummer Morgan Wright being the latest to leave. You can check his statement down below.
__________________________________________________________________________________

For the past 5 years I've dedicated my time and energy into something I have loved so much. I pursued every opportunity with passion and never once took any one of them for granted. I started ITB in my basement with my best friend at the time Justin Huffman & Shawn Spann... Just the three of us jamming out & making music that we loved. It later evolved into what you know today as " I the Breather." ITB has been the best thing I have ever been a part of. It's been a roller coaster ride, an unending thrill ride. Every member past and present; looking past all the hard times we faced I think of the good times we embraced together. As I write this letter of me stepping down from my current position as drummer of ITB. I thank you.

As for our fans, I have been truly spoiled and blessed to be so fortunate to have people who care about everything I/we did. It's a humbling thing to know that something I started as an outlet to have fun... Turned into an inspiration to some. All the good times and crazy concerts I've shared with you I can hold onto that for the rest of my life.

There comes a time when you get burnt out doing something. You try and try to stay motivated and make things happen, but it doesn’t quite go according to plan. The reason behind me stepping down is: “I'm” simply burnt out. This band has created me to look at playing the drums as a task and an unwanted duty that I sometimes would dread to have to do. Something I love so dearly has now become so hard for me to sit down and feel motivated to do. It's as simple as that. I shouldn't feel burnt out about playing drums for thousands of kids and doing what I love. It shouldn't be that way. Me leaving has nothing to do with the friendship & brotherhood I have with the members of this band. They’re the definition of brothers & have supported me in every way possible.

When God grants you with a gift he wants you to share it with the world. The world needs to know what you know! I believe I've done that with my drumming through ITB all over the world... I'm honored for getting the opportunity to do so. Thanks to EVERYONE at Sumerian records for believing and being so amazing to work with (Nick, Matt, Shawn, Ash, George, Dan, Mike, Randy)

Thanks to everyone in ITB past & present(Justin, Conor, Shawn, Chase, Jered, Armand)

My last show will be Sunday August 4th Intensity Music Festival See you all there!

We had a fun ride!

- Morgan Wright

JUSTIN HUFFMAN LEAVES I THE BREATHER

I The Breather is one of my local bands that actually made it somewhere. Currently signed to the awesome Sumerian Records, they have been touring the world and spreading their brand of heavy music. So naturally, I was pretty bummed to hear Justin Huffman, beastly guitarist and creative force behind I The Breather, has just parted ways with the band. This isn't the only recent line-up change as they have taken on a new guitarist and bassist in the past year (give or take... pun intended). All the replacements have been solid though. Justin had this to say:

"As of today, I am no longer playing guitar with ITB. Simply because the band is no longer my main priority. Over the past 3 years I've had the best time of my life, and want to thank everyone who has ever came out to a show. I will continue to write music, and most likely put out a solo project sometime at the end of the year. So make sure to add me on Facebook or twitter so you can see what I am up to! Thanks for all the good times! - Justin"

I wish the best of luck to everyone. We'll keep you up to date with both Justin's solo work and I The Breather. In the mean time... jam the tracks below! MOSH!

I THE BREATHER TOUR RECAP

After touring all summer on Rockstar's Mayhem Festival with bands such as Slayer, Motorhead, Slipknot, As I Lay Dying, Whitechapel, Upon A Burning Body, and Betraying The Martyrs, I The Breather has put together an video recap of the tour. I The Breather is one of my local bands from Hagerstown/Baltimore, MD so I have to show them some love. Especially with how far they've come. Good video here. You can watch the ITB tour recap below. We also have live gopro drum footage of drummer Morgan Wright playing "Bruised & Broken" under the album version. Blast that!

Who's ready for this? Born of Osiris are hitting the road with Norma Jean, The Word Alive, and label mates I The Breather. Should be a good one. And you won't even need to show up early cause no one wants to see Capture the Crown. We have the tour poster with all the dates and some music for you guys.

Also before that, at the end of this month, The Word Alive is gonna be touring with Like Moths to Flames and Upon A Burning Body. If you live in the northeast and you want to go, yet again we have the flyer for you. Happy moshing.

I THE BREATHER RELEASE NEW VIDEO

I The Breather is one of my local bands that actually got somewhere. I remember seeing these guys awhile back at the August Burns Red DVD shoot when they were still unheard of. And I have to say they put on a great live show. Ever since, they've been signed to Sumerian Records and have released two full length albums for an ever growing fan base. They are currently supporting their newest release "Truth & Purpose" on Rockstar's Mayhem Festival 2012. A lyric video for "Mentalist", possibly my favorite song off that album, was just released. Czech it.
